Senior Fire Protection / Sprinkler Design Engineer
As a Senior Fire Protection / Sprinkler Design Engineer at MEPCO (now part of Ethos), you will play a key technical leadership role in delivering high-performance, automatic fire suppression systems.
About MEPCO & Ethos
MEPCO is a leading building services engineering consultancy specializing in high-end mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design. Recently, MEPCO joined Ethos, a global engineering consultancy known for innovation, sustainable design, and digital engineering delivery. Together, we combine top-tier local engineering talent with global reach, delivering complex infrastructure projects across Europe.
About the Job
As a Senior Fire Protection / Sprinkler Design Engineer at MEPCO (now part of Ethos), you will play a key technical leadership role in delivering high-performance, automatic fire suppression systems for complex, large-scale international projects across Europe. You will focus on mission-critical facilities such as data centers, pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities, and heavy industrial developments.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will lead the fire sprinkler design process from concept through to fabrication-ready BIM models (LOD 400). You will combine deep hydraulic calculation expertise with advanced BIM modeling, prefabrication workflows, and international fire safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Act as the technical lead for fire suppression system design delivery on complex international projects (data centers, pharma, industrial, healthcare).
Perform and verify detailed hydraulic calculations in strict accordance with FM Global, NFPA, and EN 12845 standards.
Develop detailed 3D BIM models for fire suppression systems in Revit up to high LOD levels (LOD 300–400).
Lead interdisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection processes using Navisworks to ensure fully coordinated, constructible design solutions.
Produce construction, as-built, and high-detail fabrication/prefabrication (spool) drawings for installation teams and manufacturers.
Review and check technical deliverables within the engineering team prior to client submission to maintain high quality standards.
Perform equipment selection (fire pumps, alarm valve stations, specialized nozzles, control valves, and water storage solutions).
Liaise with international client engineering teams, architects, BIM coordinators, and main contractors.
Mentor and support mid-level and junior engineers within the fire protection team.
